About this roast

Rich, smooth, and full-bodied, La Palma is a Costa Rican coffee we roast medium-dark to develop its natural sweetness and create a thicker, more coating body.

Expect notes of bittersweet chocolate, toasted almond, and brown sugar, with balanced acidity and a long, nutty finish. La Palma is especially at home as espresso, producing a rich, syrupy shot with plenty of chocolate and nutty sweetness. It also makes a satisfying brewed cup for anyone who enjoys a deeper roast while still tasting the character of the coffee.

Origin & Sourcing

The green coffee for La Palma is sourced through Bellwether Coffee from COOPEPALMARES, a cooperative in the Palmares canton of Alajuela, Costa Rica. Founded in 1962, the cooperative represents more than 1,450 coffee producers.

This washed coffee is grown at approximately 1,200–1,300 meters and includes Catuai and Caturra varieties.

COOPEPALMARES also invests in environmental and community initiatives, including recycled water in coffee processing, energy-efficient drying, water treatment, and producing organic fertilizer from coffee byproducts. The cooperative provides additional services to its members and community, including access to financing and healthcare.

Roasted by Joyhouse
